Native Landscape Design and Assessment for the DIY gardener.
We design, you plant! We have a variety of packages to suit every budget. We make sustainable gardening achievable for everyone.
Why Sustainable?
Sustainable landscape designers play a crucial role in creating outdoor spaces that are environmentally friendly, conserve resources, and enhance biodiversity. Here are some key aspects of the role:
Environmental Considerations: We prioritize native plants, which require less water and maintenance, and choose materials that have minimal impact on the environment.
Water Management: Our designers often incorporate rain gardens, permeable paving, and efficient irrigation systems to reduce water consumption and minimize runoff.
Energy Efficiency: We focus on designs that optimize natural heating and cooling via windbreaks and sun-paths.
Biodiversity and Habitat Creation: Our designers aim to support local wildlife by creating habitats with diverse plantings, nesting sites, and water features that attract birds, insects, and other beneficial creatures.
Waste Reduction: They promote composting, use of recycled materials for hardscaping, and designs that minimize waste during construction and maintenance.
Community Engagement: Collaboration with clients and communities to educate about sustainable practices and the benefits of eco-friendly landscaping.
Long-term Planning: Designers consider the lifecycle of plants and materials, designing landscapes that evolve gracefully over time with minimal disruption.

FOUNDER/ LEAD DESIGNER
As the founder and visionary behind Native Scapes GA, I am deeply passionate about blending ecological sustainability with innovative landscape design. With over 5 years of experience in the industry, I have cultivated a career dedicated to transforming outdoor spaces into harmonious, environmentally conscious ecosystems.
My journey into sustainable landscape design began with a profound appreciation for nature's intrinsic beauty and a commitment to preserving it. After earning my certification in Sustainable Landscape Design from Oregon State Universtiy, I embarked on a mission to redefine traditional landscaping practices through a sustainable lens.
At Native Scapes GA, we specialize in creating biodiverse landscapes that not only enhance aesthetic appeal but also promote ecological health. Our projects integrate native plants, efficient irrigation systems, and renewable materials to minimize environmental impact and foster local biodiversity.
Driven by a belief in the power of design to inspire environmental stewardship, I collaborate closely with clients to realize their vision while prioritizing sustainability. Whether it's designing residential gardens, corporate campuses, or public parks, every project at Native Scapes GA is an opportunity to demonstrate the beauty and functionality of sustainable landscaping practices.
Beyond design, I am committed to advancing sustainability in the industry through speaking engagements, workshops, and advocacy for green building practices. My work and research at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens has been underscoring my dedication to excellence in sustainable landscape design.
In addition to my professional endeavors, I am an active member of Georgia Native Plant SocieIy, the Perennial Plant Society, and the Soil Science Society of America. I believe in the importance of collaboration and continuous learning to push the boundaries of sustainable design further.
Outside of work, you can find me exploring local trails, tending to my own sustainable garden, or mentoring aspiring landscape designers who share my passion for creating spaces that enrich both people and the planet.
